Bharti, RIL among ten
Indian cos in Forbes Asia's Fabulous 50

Ten Indian companies, including Reliance Industries, Tata
Steel, Bharti Airtel and IT majors Infosys and Wipro, have
made their way into the Forbes' list of top 50 best listed
companies in Asia.
India has second largest presence on the list after China's 13
companies.
Besides, there are seven companies from Australia, six from
Taiwan, five from Hong Kong, three from Japan, two from South
Korea and one each from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and
Philippines.
Indian companies on the list also include private sector
lender HDFC Bank, public sector BHEL, diversified conglomerate
ITC, engineering and infrastructure firm Larsen & Toubro and
auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra.
"Indian companies once again had a strong showing, with 10
making our cut. Infosys and Wipro, perennial top performers,
are back for the fourth year. Reliance Industries, Bharat
Heavy and Larsen & Toubro are back for the third year.
"Consumer-oriented companies such as Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank,
Mahindra & Mahindra and ITC are growing with India's middle
class," the magazine said in an accompanying report.
The list is based on long-term profitability, sales and
earnings growth, stock price appreciation and projected
earnings for every company in the region with revenues or
market capitalisation of at least five billion dollars.
There are 23 rookies making their first appearance in the list
and most of them are from China.
Besides ten Indian firms on this year's Asian Fab 50 list, two
others from the country have also made to an accompanying list
of 'Fab 50 Companies to Watch'.
Private sector lender Axis Bank and Jindal Group firm Jindal
Steel & Power are two Indian firms on this list which has a
total of 13 firms.
